Shopaholic Star Buy: Matalan Boots

OK, so the shop shelves are filling up with an assortment of brightly coloured flip flops, espadrilles and jelly shoes all fighting for our attention but bide your time - there's still time for a final fling with some big old boots.

These patent Chelsea boots with heavy duty tread are just too good to miss. Walk on by and you'll regret it - especially when you see the price.

Battle of the Biker Jackets: Baby Pink v Powder Blue

Spring has sprung and the winter coats can finally be packed away - but which of the new season's must-have jackets will be winging its way into your wardrobe for you to wear instead? For me, the front runner has to be a pastel coloured biker jacket. My black leather biker is a perennial favourite, but I might just be tempted to trade it for pretty pastel version this spring. The question is whether to go for baby pink or powder blue? Here are 4 of the best styles I've found out on the high street - but which wins out for you?

Matalan Pink PU Biker Jacket, £30
River Island Light Blue Leather Jacket, £120
Zara Pastel Faux Leather Zip Jacket, £69.99
Primark PU Pink Biker Jacket, £25

To The Max!

At 5'3 and a half I'd never really considered maxi dresses as an option - that is until my best friend Lucy changed my mind with her lovely drop-waisted floral number. On holiday in Abu Dhabi maxi dresses were a popular choice amongst the girls whether on the beach or at a fancy restaurant - satisfying the modest dress codes whilst still remaining cool (in both senses of the word). Tugging at the hem of a dress I'd managed to shrink in the wash, worrying that it was far too short, maxi dresses suddenly seemed to be the answer to effortless elegance. I'll just have to find one that doesn't drag along the floor or trip me up!

On my search to find the perfect maxi for me, I've managed to whittle it down to a shortlist of 5:

1. Border Print Maxi Dress, £55 Oasis

2. Binary Floral Maxi Dress, £56 Warehouse

3.Tribal Maxi Dress, £30 Dorothy Perkins

4. Cutaway Stripe Maxi Dress, £20 Matalan

5. Tile Print Maxi Dress, £50 Miss Selfridge

Jeepers Creepers!

Don't get me wrong, I love an oversized shirt, boyfriend blazer and brogues as much as the next girl, but creepers always just seemed like a step too far along the road to androgyny for me. To put it bluntly, creepers give me the creeps.

Perhaps it's the association with beatniks skulking around dodgy backstreets (who gave 'brothel creepers' there unsavoury name), but I never thought I'd see the appeal - so you can imagine my surprise when I found the pair to change my mind at Matalan.

The creepers in question are a pump style - so they are a tad more girly and a lot more flattering than just your average creepers. The thick soles make them sooo comfortable, add to that a price tag of only £10 and I'm sold!
