Hip, hip Hooray! Today is my birthday and I'm off to The Globe to see 'King Lear' - but not before a spot of present opening...
This year there's a bit of a Vivienne Westwood theme going on and I've got a lovely red purse and matching watch. Aren't I a lucky girl?!
Whoever said money can't buy happiness simply didn't know where to go shopping

Theresa's Tartan Army
Vivienne Westwood always makes sure there's plenty of plaid in her collections, but this season we're taking up the tartan more than ever. It doesn't matter whether you're the model of the moment or the Home Secretary, everyone loves a Vivienne Westwood suit...
Looking at these pictures one has to wonder whether Theresa May has been taking style tips from Cara Delevingne after they were both spotted wearing the very same £1190 suit, but remember Theresa's been spotted wearing Vivienne Westwood pieces numerous times before - so much for being anti-establishment!
On the high street Primark, Topshop and Zara have all produced their own tartan suits. The Zara version (pictured above) comes in at £79.98 - that's £49.99 for the jacket and £29.99 for the trousers. With budgeting like that George Osborne had better watch out. Then again I'd much rather have a Mulberry bag on my arm than that battered red briefcase.

Burns Night Tartan
It's the 25th January - and that means it's time to celebrate the birth of Scotland's finest poet. I'm not Scottish, nor do I have any Scottish blood in me, but I'm not one to miss out on a literary celebration - and I do love a bit of tartan.
If haggis, neeps and tatties aren't your thing then why not celebrate with a style statement? The mere prospect of a Vivienne Westwood tartan dress is enough to get me reeling around the room.

Celebrate Wool Week - 5th-11th Sept 2011
It's time to celebrate all things wool as today marks the start of Wool Week. Events are set to take place across the UK to inspire the future use of wool amongst everyone from shoppers to students, industry insiders to artisans. The campaign aims to break traditional perceptions of wool and show that it has diverse potential. The 'Wool Modern' exhibition in La Galleria on Pall Mall proves just that. Featuring unique pieces by leading designers the exhibition establishes wool as a modern, innovative and avant garde material.
'Wool Modern' is free to the public and runs from 8th-29th September. You'll see work by the likes of Erdem, Galliano and Vivienne Westwood, who praised the versatility of wool:
'Wool is one of the world's great natural fibres, famous for its versatility and comfort - warm in winter, cool in summer.'
The list of benefits goes on and on. Not only is wool environmentally friendly, being a natural fibre which is entirely renewable, sustainable and biodegradable, but it also provides naturally high UV protection. With so many buzz words it's a wonder the wool industry has ever been in trouble. But with competition from so many man-made fibres and faced with the plummeting price of wool, the industry has undeniably suffered. Support the Campaign for Wool and it need never go out of fashion. Now is the perfect time to invest in some winter woolies - or even knit your own!

The Brits

I fully intended to write about all the amazing outfits on display at last night's Brit Awards ceremony, but for me there was simply no wow factor amongst the X-Factor crowd. The most stylish aspect had to be the new look statuette - designed by none other than the doyenne of British fashion - Dame Viv.
