Forget the Higgs boson, this is the scientific breakthrough we've all been waiting for... yes, finally someone has invented a clutch bag that can actually charge your phone!
Gone are those nights when you loose your friends in an impossibly busy bar and can't even call a taxi home because - surprise, surprise - your phone is out of battery.
All that drunk texting and Instagramming of selfies sure saps up some juice - but now we'll always be able to write that late night status update without a worry. Mighty Purse have come to the rescue with their range of cute leather clutch bags (pictured left, £84.99), complete with charger and enough room for the essential cash, cards, keys etc. A Mighty Purse indeed!
Whoever said money can't buy happiness simply didn't know where to go shopping

Posh Clutch Bags
When Victoria Beckham was (quite rightly) named as Glamour's 'Woman of the Decade' back in June you couldn't fail to notice her impeccable outfit. Wearing a Maison Martin Margiela jumpsuit to collect her award, Victoria wasn't short of arm candy either - even without hubby David by her side. Instead the former Spice Girl had eldest son Brooklyn on her arm for the evening and struck gold with a chic metal clutch bag.
The clutch in question is of course from Victoria's own line and is still available for £1850 from MyTheresa. Pricey, I know - but if you are looking for a high street version Zara have come along with their Midas touch and a mirrored minaudiere for just £29.99. You can even practise your Posh pout in it!

Literary Gems
Depicting literary classics, such as Alice in Wonderland and Jane Eyre as well as rarer editions like The Lure of Long Beach (pictured above), at least we can say they're still a whole lot cheaper than buying an actual first edition of the text - but there are more affordable options out there...
A quick search on etsy is all it takes to find literary gems transformed into clutch bags at prices ranging from £50 - £100.
Personally I love the idea of finding my favourite novel transformed into a bag, so I'll be on the lookout for a Pride & Prejudice one - but The Great Gatsby (pictured left) has to be one of the most sought after titles available, what with Baz Luhrmann's extravaganza of a film adaptation now on the big screen.
They make a great talking point - I just hope people will be inspired to read the stories behind the bags rather than using one to stash away their copy of Fifty Shades of Grey.

Seeing Double: Perspex Clutch Bags
The hottest handbag of the season? Well, if you ask me it has to be a perspex box clutch - but you can forget about having your phone, money, keys and any other unmentionables on display for the world to see, as they do tend to come with a fabric insert so the mysteries of a lady's bag remain just that - a mystery. And isn't that kind of like getting two bags for the price of one?Well, you may have to tell yourself that over and over again if you opt for a Charlotte Olympia Pandora perspex clutch with spider clasp (£625). But here's a handy tip... although I love the orange version you can get the clear for £595 - and this one comes with 3 different inserts (leopard, linen and gold lame). Of course the other option is to hot foot it over to Zara where their neon perspex box clutch bags come in at £19.99.
